Every school canteen sells Vada Pav & this was our blogger, Neha Deepak Shah’s go-to.

She still remembers it cost Rs. 4 back then.

Let’s make a Vada Pav Subway!

 

Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Vada:

  • 4 to 5 Cloves of Garlic + 1 Green Chilli + 1 tsp Ginger (Pound this into a coarse mix)
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 pinches of Hing
  • 8 to 10 curry Leaves
  • Salt
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • Lots of Coriander
  • 3 Potatoes (Boiled & mashed)

 

For the Besan Batter:

  • Besan
  • Water
  • Salt

 

For the Assembly:

  • 4 Hot Dog Breads
  • Cutneys of your choice
  • Cheese (Optional)
  • Tomato, Cucumber, Capsicum, Onion, Lettuce
  • Chaat Masala

 

We did not deep fry the Vada. Neha used Stahl’s Hybrid Kadhai and Hybrid Frypan for this recipe – both of which are stick resistant.
