Crunchy Karela Bhaja in Stahl Hybrid Tasla

CRUNCHY KARELA BHAJA IN STAHL HYBRID TASLA

We don’t know how people usually enjoy karela at their homes, but our Blogger, Sneha Singhi Updhaya, takes pride in how good this dish turns out at her place. This is the only way anyone can get her to eat karela!

This recipe was made using the Stahl Hybrid Tasla.

Serves 2

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 Karelas; cut in half, deseeded, and sliced
  • Salt
  • ½ tsp Haldi
  • 1 large onion; thinly sliced
  • ⅓ cup Oil
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • ½ tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Jeera Powder
  • ½ tsp Aamchur
  • ¼ tsp Haldi
  • Salt

        Method:

        1. Add dal and haldi to the sliced karela and keep it aside for 10-15 mins. Please do not wash the karela after slicing, it’ll only make it bitter.
        2. Heat oil, and brown both onions and karela separately. It should be browned well, you can add the jeera with either the onions or the karela.
        3. After frying both, strain them both from the oil. Remove the excess oil from the pan. Add the karela, onions and all the other masalas to the pan again and mix it well.
        4. Serve hot with dal roti/rice. I promise you’ll love it.

            Enjoy!
