One Pot Christmas Mutton Stew in Stahl Versatil Pressure Cooker

ONE POT CHRISTMAS MUTTON STEW IN STAHL VERSATIL PRESSURE COOKER

Christmas is here and what better way to celebrate it than by making delicious, yummy food!

Now we know this can be a little stressful at times, but here is a one-pot mutton stew recipe made in the Stahl Versatil Cooker, that is so easy and effortless to make that you will enjoy cooking your Christmas feast.

 

Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Mutton Marination:

  • 1 kg boneless Mutton (with a few pieces with bone)
  • Salt to taste
  • 3-4 tsp crushed Black Pepper
  • 3 tbsp refined Flour
  • 2 tbsp Oil for frying

For the Stew:

  • 1 tbsp Oil or Butter
  • 1 ½ cup sliced Onions
  • 7-8 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp fresh Thyme / Rosemary
  • Salt as required
  • 1 cup Celery
  • 1 diced Carrot
  • ½ cup Red wine
  • 2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Cumin Powder
  • 2 tbsp Maida
  • 1 litre Stock or Water
  • 1 cup Tomato Purée

Other Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp chopped Parsley
  • ½ cup Green Peas

                   

                      Method:

                      1. Season the mutton pieces with salt and pepper and keep for 20 mins.
                      2. Now add the maida to it and toss well, heat oil in the Stahl Versatil Cooker and fry the mutton pieces on high heat till they brown up on all sides.
                      3. Remove the mutton and in the same pot add the onions, garlic, and herbs.
                      4. Add salt and fry for 5-6 min on medium heat till they just start to brown, now add the celery and carrots, and continue to fry for 4-5 mins.
                      5. When onions go entirely soft, and they start to stick to the bottom deglaze with some red wine and reduce to half.
                      6. Now add the spices and cook them for 2 mins.
                      7. Next add the stock, followed by the mutton & mix well, check the seasoning & place the lid of the pressure cooker.
                      8. Let it pressure cook for 7-8 whistles & then finish with some peas and parsley.
                      9. Serve hot with mashed potatoes and sourdough bread.
